MEDICAL IMAGE ANALYSIS

For more than 5 years we have worked on applying Computer Vision and Machine Learning to biomedical image analysis problems.
We have collaborated with veterinary experts in nationally and regionally funded projects where Computer Vision and Machine Learning techniques were used to assess automatically boar semen quality for artificial insemination purposes, with the goal of avoiding manual inspection and fluorescence microscopes.
In the context of boar sperm analysis, we have collaborated with Industry, developing systems to automatically detect droplets and whiptails in boar sperm by means of Computer Vision techniques.
Recently, we have also collaborated in a project whose goal was to automatically identify healthy tissues in the cardiovascular system.
